“Funny Business” – An Inside Look at the Art of Cartooning, will be rebroadcast again this Saturday, June 16, at 2pm, on WNET (Channel 13 in New York City (and perhaps on a local station of your own). The 60-minute documentary, directed by Lyda Ely, focuses on 12 New Yorker cartoonists, including myself, talking and drawing. There are also bits of me playing the piano, singing a little and laughing a lot.

“Out Of Line” – SuperPac
This cartoon appeared in the May 31, 2012 issue of The Columbia Paper, perfectly timed to respond to the widely publicized, hotly contested recall vote of Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Walker’s victory yesterday, secured by a huge, expensive advertising campaign, proves conclusively that unregulated political money (made possibly by the Supreme Court) talks very, very loudly, and is a chilling preview of what’s ahead in this election year. (My “Out Of Line” cartoon runs on the editorial page in every issue of The Columbia Paper, a weekly serving Columbia County and environs in upstate New York.)
Another New Yorker Cartoon
The June 4/June 11 (science fiction) issue of The New Yorker opens with my “Castaway Island” cartoon on the contents page (4). It’s one of only four cartoons in the issue, which is unusual; ordinarily there are at least a dozen in the magazine. It (gulp) sort of fits the theme of this cartoon.
